gagacountry Lady Gaga Goes Country!

Is pop’s current queen just a cowgirl at heart?

With her second studio album due for release in May, Lady Gaga is crossing genres with a “Country Road Version” of her hit “Born This Way,” which she debuted via Twitter Friday morning.

The remix, co-produced by Gaga with Fernando Garibay, turns a club-ready beat into a more stripped-down, drawled-out ballad, and, in true Gaga fashion, she even takes a break from the usual routine with one new verse: “If we want it make it country, baby, it’s okay/’cause I was born, I was born, I was born this way/from London, Paris, Japan, back to U.S.A/I was born on the road, I was born to be brave.”

With a few harmonica touches, the reborn, country-fied tune goes where Gaga, 24, has never gone before – not an easy feat for the pop star known for her off-the-chart antics. And while pop and country are no strangers in the music industry – think Taylor Swift, LeAnn Rimes – we don’t know if we’ll ever adjust to seeing Gaga sporting cowgirl boots.
